Euro 2012, European Football Championship
a real challenge for Poland and Ukraine and substancial investments
are planned to stage this major sporting event.
In Poland
Approximatly 8 billion € for
the construction of five stadia,
and 200km of motorways
2 billion € for extensions to airports
and between 40 and 300 new hotels
In the Ukraine
16 billion € of costs are directly linked to these developments for Euro 2012
Security is one of the key points in the preparations
(equipment, surveillance systems, crowd control mechanisms at access points)
preparation of the transport infrastructure.
The tournament is to be held in four stadia in Poland : Gdansk, Poznan, Varsovie and Wroclaw,
and four for the Ukraine : Dniepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kiev and Lvov.

According to the last report from Eurostar, the rate of GDP in Poland, after ajustments for seasonal factors, reached
1.9%
in the first quarter of 2009,
This is currently the best set of figures amongst the European countries that have submitted their results
Amongst Central European and Eastern Auropean countries
Kazakhstan,
Azerbaïdjan,
and Uzbekistan
have also achieved some excellent economic performances
